About
Welcome to Il Pavone, a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Milan at Via Marcantonio dal Re. This charming restaurant, with its inviting atmosphere and friendly service, has garnered a loyal following for its exceptional cuisine and reasonable prices. It has become a favorite haunt for both locals and travelers alike.
Il Pavone offers a menu that showcases the best of Italian dining. The starter seafood platter has been highly praised, a testament to the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Many guests, like Selvam Kanniah, have lauded the seafood spaghetti for its robust flavors and delightful textures. Diners can indulge in generously portioned main courses that leave a lasting impression, with recommendations for the coteletta a la milanese and melt-in-your-mouth Angus steaks.
While the wine selection may be limited, the quality of what is offered complements the dishes beautifully. Guests have enjoyed sharing plates, sparking a sense of community and connection over a shared love of Italian cuisine. As Cal C notes, the restaurant provides great value, particularly for those starting their evenings early.
This cozy spot is not just about the food; it’s also about the experience. Stina Mikkelsen's review highlights the charming hostess, whose warmth and humor make every visit memorable. The attention to detail extends beyond the menu, creating a welcoming environment that feels like a home away from home. Although a little maintenance could enhance the ambiance, the focus remains firmly on the food—and what a delight it is.
Overall, Il Pavone captures the essence of Italian dining with its commitment to quality and hospitality. Whether you are a returning patron or a first-time visitor, you are bound to leave with a satisfied palate and memories worth cherishing. It’s an experience not to be missed when in Milan.
“ Around the corner from our hotel was this little restaurant that delivers more than it looks to. Excellent food where I can highly recommend the Angus steaks that melted in our mouths. Decent prices but then nothing is cheap in Milan. ”
“ Food is very good. The owner, lady Maria, is kind and cheerful. The service is fast. Highly recommend! ”
“ It is a very cozy little spot. The Hostess is a Kind and humoristic woman, who despite not being super good at English tries her best. The food is AMAZING and we have been there twice within our 3 days in Milan. The place is clean, but the bathroom could use an overhaul. Overall I would definitely come back if I am ever to visit Milan again ”
“ I tried the starter seafood platter and seafood spaghetti, both are awesome. Prices are reasonable. Went there again on 25th Feb 2017. Big main courses as before. Good taste and friendly service. Lucky we made a reservation it was fully booked. Very limited wine selection. Deserve 4* again. Been our regular yearly affair, In 2024 we had 2 dinners here. Both are awesome, my guests really happy with the food and wine. ”
“ I liked the food. The coteletta a la milanese was extra. The beef filet was delicious and the pasta bolognese was yummy as well. The panacotta was fresh and worth the try :) ”
“ Really enjoyed this. It was quiet, but we were eating very early so I give 5 stars in faith. Great wine and good value. Lovely shared starter (I followed my crew but I would have had pasta) and good mains. ”
